SHOOTING IN COCORITE: 1 DEAD & 2 WOUNDED

There are reports of a shooting which took place at Western Main Road, Cocorite in the vicinity of Westshore Medical on Thursday afternoon.

Around 5:30pm gunmen open fire on a white Nissan B15. The vehicle subsequently drove to the Four Roads Police Station. The driver was unhurt. Dead is Adisa Harry of Waterhole, Cocorite; whilst Josiah Gillard and his wife Neisha Gillard also of Waterhole, Cocorite were both shot. They were subsequently taken to the St. James Medical Complex for medical treatment.
*Stephanie* Calbio age 34 and *Chervelle* Francis age 24 of Carenage had an altercation where Stephanie was dealt several stabs about her body. Stephanie was rushed to the St James Medical Hospital where she died. Chervelle Francis is presently detained at the Carenage Police Station.
NEDTF while on exercise duty in Mt Hope area shot a suspect alias “Menace” who was armed with a firearm. He was taken to Mt Hope Hospital where he was pronounced Dead. Firearm and ammunition was recovered..
BROTHER KILLED BROTHER IN DIEGO MARTIN

A man identified as Alex Jagassar was gunned down by his younger brother Nicholas Jagassar on Thursday morning at their Cicada Extension, Diego Martin home.

Shortly after 1am the brothers had a heated argument that lead to a scuffle. Nicholas subsequently left and return a shortwhile later. On his return several loud explosions were heard and Alex Jagassar was discovered dead with several gunshot wounds about his body.

A few years ago the deceased was charged for the Attempted Murder of Nicholas Jagassar after he shot him in his head.

Police officers responded and Nicholas Jagassar was arrested and is presently assisting the police with its investigation.

Facts:
Around 12:30 pm on 3/05/2022, officers of the Blanchisseuse police station whilst on patrol in the Blanchisseuse district received information of a body laying motionless in the La Fillette area. The said officers proceeded to Water Reserve Tr, La Fillete Village, Blanchisseuse and met a woman of african descent,who identified herself as Joanne Diaz of said address who pointed in a bushy area and stated ” look meh son dey he dead”. The officers observed a man of african decent, slim built, clad in black jersey and grey and red stripe pants and cornrow hairstyle laying motionless with apparent gunshots wounds about the body. Ms Diaz identified the deceased as Stefan Diaz, d.o.b 22/07/1986 age 35 of lp#62, Borough Rd, Maracas Bay. He was discovered by his girlfriend Kathyann Sankar of same address around 11:30am today. The said Kathy Ann Sankar had reported the deceased missing at the Blanchisseuse Police Station around 10 am today. present at the scene is No 14326 Sgt Hosein and party awaiting the arrival of the relevant agencies..who were already informed.
MURDER IN WOODBROOK: “COCKY” KILLED

A well community leader in the Belmont area was gunned down in Woodbrook on Saturday afternoon.

Sheldon Coutain alias “Cocky” of Rifle Hill, Belmont was shot multiple times whilst driving along Picton Street, Woodbrook. He died on the scene.

Police are presently on the scene.
HGP NIGHTLY NEWS- BREAKING NEWS- Two men were found dead early Saturday morning in the Parking lot of the Mariott Hotel. Police found the bodies inside a car around 1am.

They have been identified as Richie Hansraj and Justin Texiera.

Richie Hansraj worked in the music industry while Justin Texiera worked at American Airlines.

Crime Sleuths are still investigating the incident, but Police are working on the theory of Murder/ suicide. It’s unclear how long the bodies were at the scene before they were discovered.

Quick Action by Police Leads to the Arrest of Murder Suspect

Quick action by police led to the arrest of one man who was allegedly involved in the shooting deaths of two men and the wounding of another man who was also shot earlier today. Police also seized an AR-15 rifle, a revolver and a blue Toyota Aqua vehicle during the exercise.

The shooting occurred in Enterprise, Chaguanas, where two men of Chrissie Trace were fatally shot, the third man from Walcott Lane was shot and wounded.

*WOMAN CHOPPED AND* *BURNT TO DEATH* *NSIDE HOUSE* *BY HUSBAND* A woman identified as Patricia Phillip was murdered tonight by her husband whom she left for another man some time prior.According to reports the Chaguanas woman was at a Manzanilla home celebrating the 7th birthday of her son when the husband came to the house and killed her.He chopped her and after firebombed the house with her inside, Patricia’s charred remains were found after. The suspect later handed himself over to police. Her son was not harmed.

TRAVTECH SECURITY OFFICER GUNNED DOWN

A security officer stationed at a doctor’s office was killed outside his workplace near San Fernando early on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified by police as Tojay Anthony Ricketts, 28, a Jamaican national, of Indian Walk, Princes Town, employed with Travtech Security Services Limited.

A police report stated that at around 1.25 a.m. PCs Ragoonanan, Mitchell, Patrick responded to a report of explosions in the vicinity of Sawh Medical Associates at SS Erin Road Phillipine.

Officers found the body of Ricketts outside the workplace and secured the scene.

The body was identified by a managing director of the security firm.

A district medical officer examined the body and ordered it removed to the San Fernando mortuary for an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre pending testing for the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Crime Scene investigators retrieved eight spent nine-millimetre shells and a Samsung cell phone from the scene.

Detectives of the Homicide Bureau of Region III, and San Fernando CID responded.

The motive for the killing is not yet known.

HOMICIDE #79 & #80 | SISTERS KILLED IN FIREBOMBING In the midst of Wednesday’s blackout, a home in Curepe was firebombed at around 12:10am. Two sisters, Amanda and Alicia Charles, aged 30 and 31, died. First responders to the scene were answering a call about a structure on fire located at #60 Watts Street in Curepe. When they arrived, they saw smoke emanating from an apartment building that was ablaze. A crowd of onlookers alerted responders to three people inside the burning building. The front door to the apartment was breached, and the three occupants of the apartments were brought out unconscious. The Fire Services and the Emergency Health Services (EHS) were contacted and the victims were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex. Upon arrival, Amanda succumbed at 12:58am and her sister, Alicia, was pronounced dead at 1:43am. One man, 38 year old Fidel Guerra, remains hospitalised.

HOMICIDE #66 | MAN SHOT 12 TIMES

A 26-year-old man was shot dead at Cocoyea Village, San Fernando, Tuesday night. He has been identified as Paul Eccles, of Simpson Brown Terrace, Cocoyea Village.

Police said around 9:50 pm, residents heard loud explosions and on checking, they saw a bare-backed Eccles lying in the yard of the compound where he had an apartment, at Dal Keith Road. He was dead at the scene.

Police recovered several live rounds and spent casings of 9mm ammunition.

Investigations are continuing.

A man was gunned down on Monday night along Broadway in Port-of-Spain when he stopped to purchase a meal.  He has been identified as Jamaican national Garth Perkins.

Perkins was well known in the events coordination sector and formerly worked at Hyatt.

Police said at about 7:30 pm, seconds after a police patrol drove past Perkins’ parked vehicle, a gunman ran up to him and shot him several times.

Perkins attempted to escape; however, he slumped to the ground next to his car, where he died.

Eyewitnesses told police that the gunman ran away into the nearby Sea Lots area.

A friend of Perkins, on hearing of his untimely death, posted on social media in his memory.

“Garth Perkins, can’t believe you’re not here anymore. Even though we haven’t spoken in a long while since I was no longer working at Hyatt, you always remained as one of the coolest and humble persons I knew there,” Perkins’ friend said.
He added: “Appreciated all your jokes and personality that always made a room of people smile no matter what. You were a good brother to be around, and I respected you. Really hurts to know this world took you away from us. Thanks for all the good memories… Rest easy my Jamaican brother!”
