Two women are nursing gunshot injuries following a shooting in St Augustine Saturday night.

The victims have been identified as Susan Ramkissoon, 43, and Rachel Mohammed, 30.

According to police reports, around 11.20 pm on Saturday, they were both standing along Dookiesingh Street, St Augustine, when they were approached by a masked man.

The man pulled out a firearm and without any warning shot at the two women.

The man then ran towards a white wagon which was waiting further down the roadway, which then sped off.

In the aftermath, Ramkissoon was found nursing gunshot wounds to her buttocks.

Mohammed, however, was found in a more serious condition, nursing gunshot injuries to her stomach and leg.

They were both rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Complex in Mt Hope where they were treated.

Up to midday today, they were both said to be warded.

Mohammed was listed in a critical condition, while Ramkissoon was said to be in a serious condition.

The scene of the shooting was visited by a team of officers from the St Joseph Police Station and Northern Division.

Four spent shells were found on the scene.

Police currently have no motive for the incident.

It is that of 17-year-old Nekanya Mohandally who went missing on March 19 from her home in Chaguanas.

Her relatives had reported her missing to police.

A autopsy yesterday found that she died of chop wounds to the neck.

At around 10a.m. Saturday at body was found in a watercourse at Exchange, Couva.

The body was clad in a pair of short black tights, black vest, and tan coloured slippers.

There was the tattoo of a rose on the right side of the abdomen.

The publication of the description led a relative confirming the identity at the Forensic Science Centre on Monday.

The autopsy was performed by pathologist Dr. Gajula.

A man was shot a few moments ago in Sangre Grande.

Reports indicate that the man, only identified as Ashram had only just arrived to work at Blue Mountain Waters when a lone gunman emerged from some bushes and opened fire on him. The gunman then fled into a waiting vehicle.

Ashram, who was shot a total of three times, was then rushed to the Arima Health Facility where his condition remains unknown to this time.

CARNIVAL FRIDAY DOUBLE MURDER IN CALIFORNIA CAUGHT ON TAPE: VENEZUELAN DAD DIES INNOCENTLY… AS GUNMEN OPEN FIRE ON TARGET

A MAN with a criminal history and an innocent bystander were killed in a drive-by shooting Couva on Friday.

Police said the bullets were meant for Daniel Renaldo Bute who was known to them for narcotics offences.

But Roni Henson Bruzal, a Venezuelan national, was merely walking past Bute when he too was shot, police said.

Bruzal’s daughter was next to him when the bullets struck him, but she was not hurt.

The shooting occurred around 6.40 p.m. in front of Maddy’s Mini Mart at the corner of Junon Street and Southern Main Road.

Bute, a labourer, was standing on the pavement in front of the mini mart and Bruzal, a rigger, and his daughter were walking into the business place

A silver Nissan Tiida pulled up in front of Bute and fired three shots, then sped off.

Bruzal stumbled into the mini mart and died on the floor.

Bute was taken to the Couva District Health Facility where he was pronounced dead.

TRINI MAN AND VENEZUELAN WOMAN SHOT OUTSIDE CLASSIC SEAMAN GUEST HOUSE, RESTAURANT AND BAR, (FORMERLY VILLA CAPRI)

A Trinidadian man and a Venezuelan woman are at the San Fernando hospital after being shot early yesterday at Classic Seamen Guest House, Restaurants and Bar (formerly Villa Capri) in Vistabella.

Police said the shooting happened at about 4 am near the entrance of the business place located at Elizabeth Street.

Up to yesterday police did not disclose the names of the injured duo. The man who is in his 40s suffered injuries to his abdomen and underwent emergency surgery at the hospital.

The woman is in her 20s was shot in her leg and is in stable condition.

Police were uncertain of the circumstances of the shooting. Many residents said they were asleep and unaware of the shooting. Marabella police are investigating.

NEWSDAY REPORT

A 23-year-old vendor was fatally shot dead in Cocorite on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Dureem Baker of Blue Basin, Diego Martin.

According to police reports, at about 2:45 pm on Wednesday, the victim was at Keylemanjahro School of Arts & Culture at Harding Place, Cocorite, in the company of other people when three men arrived on the compound.

One of the men spoke to Baker and asked him to come outside.

Baker went to an entrance located on the eastern side of the building, following which two of the men pulled out firearms and began shooting at the 24-year-old.

The victim was later found bleeding from gunshot wounds about the body. Members of the Western Division Task Force responded and rushed Baker to hospital.

He subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

A team of officers from the Western Division including Snr Sup Nelson, Sup Thompson, Inspector Vincent, Inspector Cumberbatch, and Sgt Samuel, visited the scene.

A former Defence Force Officer who ran an executive security company killed himself tonight while demonstrating the use of a firearm.

Richard Edwards, 50, owner of Multinational Specialist Network was reportedly lecturing employees on the proper methods of loading and unloading a firearm when the incident occurred. Edwards is said to have taken out his personal firearm to use in the demonstration.

In an apparent attempt to show his audience that the weapon could not fire in the position it was in, Edwards reportedly placed it to his forehead and pulled the trigger.

The 9 mm handgun discharged. Edwards fell to the ground bleeding. He was rushed to the Couva Health Facility where he succumbed to a gun shot wound to his head.

Couva CID are investigating.

Police are asking anyone with information on a shooting incident in Diego Martin which resulted in four persons being injured, to come forward.

The victims have been identified as Onika Clapperton, 19; Jason Greeves, 41; Quasie McCovley, 32; and Isaac St Bernard, 50.

Police were told that the four were in a vehicle which was travelling out of Humming Bird Avenue, Simeon Road, Petit Valley on Friday around 6:10 pm when a man was seen running behind the car.

Without warning, the man opened fire on the vehicle, hitting all four occupants.

Fearful for his life, the driver sped out of the area, and made his way to the Petit Valley Health Centre where the four occupants of the car were treated, and then transferred to the St James Medical Center.

Thankfully, the injuries sustained to three victims were not life-threatening, and they were discharged within a few hours.

However, St Bernard suffered more extensive injuries and was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for further treatment and observation.

A team of officers including Inspector Birbal, Sgt Gibbons, Sgt Ramjattan, and Sgt Hannibal, among several others, visited the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police directly, or they can give the information anonymously through 555 or 800-TIPS.

Sgt Gibbons is continuing enquiries.

A MAN who gang members accused of being an “informant” was shot dead in the living room of his Sea Lots, Port of Spain home on Tuesday morning.

Police said that around 10.30 a.m. Nigel Francisco, who worked as a security officer with a Sea Lots security firm was at his Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots home when his neighbours heard eight gunshots.

Francisco, 52, was found dead in his living room.

Police said that on Monday night six of his relatives moved out the area when they had started receiving threats from a group of young men in the community who accused some of them of telling the police about illegal activities in the area

A TAXI driver who pulled a gun during an altercation with another driver was shot by police officers this morning.

The man has been identified as David “Bruno” Thomas 37 of Almond St Edingburg 500, Chaguanas.

Police say that Thomas had an argument with the driver while at the Edinburgh 500 taxi stand.

Officers saw the commotion and ordered the driver to drop the gun but it was reported that he pointed it at them.

The police opened fire, killing Tkomas.

His mother who did not want to give her name, said even if Thomas was found with a gun, the police did not have to kill him. “The police could have arrested him with the firearm,” she said.

Relatives said while on the scene Thomas’s mother asked the officer whether he had killed her son. “His words to my aunt was ‘Yes, so what about it.'”

Thomas’s relatives also said that his mother did not get a chance to see her son’s body.

An autopsy is expected to be performed at the Forensic Sciences Complex on Monday. Family members said following the autopsy they would decide whether they will be lodging a complaint with the Police Complaints Authority.

Thomas’s brother Jason Manswell was shot and killed three years ago while in East Dry River, Port of Spain. Taxi driver Ali Muhammed was charged with his murder. The matter is before the court.

Police have shot and killed a man in Crown Trace, Enterprise this morning after he drew a firearm on officers.

Reports indicate that officers were on routine patron inside Crown Trace Enterprise this morning when they noticed a man driving a black Hyundai Tucson acting in a suspicious manner. Whilst attempting to investigate further, they directed the driver to pull to the side of the roadway, however during the course of questioning the occupant of the vehicle he drew what appeared to be a MAC-11 gun, pointed it at the officers, and began firing. The officers were forced to take cover and after an exchange of gunfire, the man was found to be wounded and subsequently died at the scene

The deceased has been identified as Allan Mohammed, who police say is well known to them, and actively involved in gang activity in the Enterprise District.

THREE DEAD AND SEVEN INJURED IN SEA LOTS SHOOTING

A drive-by shooting in Sea Lots last night has left three persons dead, and multiple others hospitalized.
Reports indicate that shortly after 8pm last night, gunmen opened fire from a vehicle driving along Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots.

Dead are:
– Rawlin Williams
– Patrick Lewis
– One Unidentified Male

Officers allege that the intended target of this shooting was Cedric ‘Burkie’ Burke, however he was not harmed in the incident as he was able to lay flat on the floor until the shooting stopped. According to a voice note circulating on WhatsApp, he was “extracted” from the scene by his personal bodyguards moments after the shooting and transported to a secure location. One female identified as Chenelle Johnson was also shot in her leg during the mele.

The TTPS has also been placed on alert as some persons also speculate that there will be reprisal shootings as a second voice note circulating on whatsapp seemed to indicate that persons with ill intent towards muslims will be taking action to *“kill anything, muslim, woman in hijab, and children”*

This incident seems is said to reignite a long standing feud between the “Rasta City” and “Muslim” gangs.

MURDER IN SANGRE GRANDE

Officers of the TTPS are at this time investigating the murder of a man in Sangre Grande.

Reports indicate that about 9:20pm, Deshawn Hitlal was shot multiple times about the body by an unknown gunman. He was then transported to the Sangre Grande Area Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries moments ago.

MAN SHOT ON PRINCE STREET

An unidentified man was just shot on the corner of Prince and Charlotte Street, Port of Spain.

Reports indicate that the man, was standing at the front of “Big George,” a local food establishment when he was approached by a gunman who shot him multiple times about the body.

Officers of the TTPS quickly responded to the scene and transported the man to the Port of Spain Hospital where he is currently undergoing emergency treatment.

BODY FOUND AT NORTH STAND ENTRANCE

The body, which officers said was burnt, made identification difficult. However officers said that upon examination of the scene, it is suspected that he was killed and burnt elsewhere, and the body was dumped here.

Besson Street Police are continuing investigations.

Body found in Icacos

THE decomposing body of a man was discovered in a mangrove in Icacos, Cedros on Sunday.
Cedros police received an anonymous call around 6.30 a.m.
Cpl Ramcharan and a team of officers found the body several metres from the shoreline at the Icacos beach.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identify the body.
It was clad in a black long pants and grey tee shirt, and is approximately 176 centimetres (five feet eight inches) tall.
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, other distinguishing features such as descent and tattoos, or marks of violence, could not be ascertained.
The body was taken to the San Fernando mortuary.

Cops kill suspected car thief at inspection garage

An uneventful day at Frank Jeeta Inspection Station in Barataria turned chaotic on Wednesday afternoon when a suspected car thief was fatally shot in a confrontation with police.

The deceased was identified as McKesi Watch from Beetham Gardens.

Two boys, aged 17 and 10, who were with Watch at the time of his killing, were arrested.

This is the third police killing for 2019 – and the second in two days, following the killing of ex-soldier Vernon Simon in Kelly Village, Caroni, on Wednesday.

Today, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force were conducting routine patrols along the Eastern Main Road, Barataria, when they observed a Chevrolet (Chevy) Impala which matched the descriptions given in an all points bulletin(APB).

The APB detailed that a Chevy had been reported stolen in a home invasion in Trincity on Monday night.

The officers attempted to intercept the car.

However, Watch , exited the vehicle – leaving behind the 17-year-old and the ten-year-old – and attempted to flee the scene.

The children also attempted to run away. They were held by police.

When they tried arresting Watch in the yard of the inspection station, it is alleged that he pulled out a firearm and was shot multiple times. He died at hospital.

Part of the incident was captured on CCTV cameras which were set up at nearby businesses .

ACP Jacob, whose portfolio was recently expanded by the office of the commissioner of police to include the North Eastern Division, told Express that he was adopting a no-nonsense approach to the district.

“The objective is to bring crime down, throughout the country. But now that I am overseeing this jurisdiction, we will be having a no-nonsense approach. We will not tolerate criminality,” Jacob said.

There are reports this morning of an early morning murder in Phoenix Park, California.

Reports indicate that the proprietor of a Mini Mart, who only recently opened his establishment after being terminated from his job, was accosted by masked assailants about 5:30am while preparing to open for his early morning stream of customers. Some time during the robbery, the owner was shot in his head and hand and died at the scene.
