MURDER IN SANGRE GRANDE

Police are investigating the murder of a man in Sangre Grande earlier this morning.

Police said they received report of gunfire at Farm Road, Madoo Singh Extension, Bois Bande Settlement at around 1.30 am and visited the scene where they saw a bleeding man near a wooden house.

The man who was identified only as “Blacks” had gunshot wounds to his upper back, right arm and chest.

Residents said he moved to the area only two weeks ago.

Police took him to the Sangre Grande hospital where he was declared dead.

Members of the Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.

#7794 Wpc Humphrey of 21 A Boundary road San Juan presently attached to the Police administration Guard Unit was involved in an altercation with her male common law husband NATHANIEL BULLOCK age 33 a member of the Coast Guard of the same address where he doused her with a flammable liquid and lit her afire. She was rushed to the Mt Hope Hospital where she is in critical condition. They said BULLOCK is in Police custody.

ALLEGED CAR THIEF SHOT IN SANTA CRUZ

Police are investigating the shooting of a 25-year-old man in Santa Cruz yesterday afternoon.

They said he tried to steal a car at Pipiol Road, Santa Cruz, at around 12.45 pm when he was shot several times by another man they identified as a “known criminal.”

The man was shot in the chest. People living nearby heard the shots and saw him bleeding.

He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he is being treated.

Police said they are still looking for the shooter

MOM THROWS HERSELF IN FRONT CAR,DIES

A MAYARO mother was killed after she threw herself in front of a moving vehicle on Wednesday night.

Julie Ramoutar, 27, a mother of three including a seventh-month old child, died within minutes of the collision.

Ramoutar’s relatives and friends posted messages to her on Facebook page, expressing their sadness and shock.

“They say that death is inevitable and one should always be prepared for it but when it comes as a terrible shock and especially so young it’s hard to come to terms with it.

You were like a ray of sunshine in our family, always the life of the party, I really can’t believe you’re no longer here with us. You left us with so many memories, you left your 3 little kids, you left us too soon Julie. You will always be in our hearts Jules. We love you. REST IN PEACE”, one of Ramoutar’s friends wrote.

A police report said Ramoutar was at standing near LP 34 St Ann’s Village, arguing with a close male relative.

Around 9.30 p.m. a man was driving his Nissan Almera on the road near Ramoutar when she ran into the pathway of the vehicle.

Ramoutar’s body pitched and landed onto the bonnet of the car.

She was taken to the Mayaro District Hospital but doctors and nurses were unable to revive her.

Cpl Arjoon and other officers of Mayaro police took statements from Ramoutar’s relatives, the driver, and other witnesses.

An autopsy was expected to be performed at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Thursday.

Princes Town teen critical after stabbing

A 19-year-old man is warded in a critical condition after he was stabbed multiple times to his back.

The victim has been identified as Shivan Rampersad of Glenroy Settlement, Princes Town.

He suffered severe injuries to his back, with one of the stab wounds piercing his lungs.

Police have little information on this incident as the victim was unable to be interviewed.

However, they were told that around 4 pm on Wednesday, Rampersad’s neighbour heard loud screams.

Upon investigating she found him lying face down on the living room floor with wounds to his back.

She raised an alarm and the victim was conveyed to the Princes Town Health Facility, where he was attended to by Dr. Abdool.

He was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital where he underwent medical treatment and is in a critical condition.

A man identified only as Andy was shot earlier tonight on the Lady Young Road in Morvant near Las Alturas.

He was rushed to the hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time.

*CUSTOMER SHOT IN THE HEAD WHILST PURCHASING BURGERS*

A MAN purchasing burgers at a stall was shot by a thief in South Oropouche on Wednesday.

Avinash Ramoutar, 32, of Rousillac was shot in the head.

His friend, Venezuelan Ronnieries Salazar, was also robbed but was not harmed.

Around 11.30 pm Ramoutar and Salazar pulled up in Ramoutar’s Mitsubishi Lancer at a burger stall at Mon Desir Road, South Oropouche.

The proprietor was serving them when two thieves wearing dark coloured clothing announced a hold up.

One of the assailants pointed a revolver at the proprietor and robbed him of $300.

The other thief took $1,200 and a cell phone valued $7,000 and the keys to the car from Ramoutar, and $500 and a cell phone valued $800 from Salazar.

The armed assailant fired a shot as he escaped in the vehicle.

Ramoutar was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was expected to undergo emergency surgery.

PCs Williams and Singh of Oropouche police responded and are continuing investigations.

undit shot, worshiper killed during Pooja

A man was shot dead and a pundit injured during a Pooja (Hindu prayer service) in Hardbargain near Princes Town on Tuesday.

Joseph Narine, 60, was shot multiple times, and the pundit Shervon Narad was struck twice by a thief who ambushed them in Narine’s home.

Around 11.30 p.m. Narine and Narad were saying religious prayers when a gunman entered the house.

The criminal announced a hold up and Narine handed over a quantity of jewellery.

But the man opened fire on Narine and Narad.

Narine was shot in the head and upper body, and died at the scene.

Narad was shot in the chest and abdomen.

Narad was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital and warded.

Insp Nanan and officers of the Princes Town CID and Southern Division Task Force responded, as well as WPC Valdez and officers of Homicide Region III.

The killing took the murder toll to 110 according to an Express tally
