MURDER IN SAMAROO VILLAGE

Police are currently on the scene of a murder where one man was shot and killed in Samaroo Village in Arima.

Information sent in indicate that the deceased was identified as Anton Drayton

TRIPLE MURDERThe victims died in the house in which they lived at the old Petrotrin residential area at Cochrane Village.They have been identified as Ceslyn Farrell, 69, her son Patrick Farrell, 48, and family friend identified to police only as ‘Celeste’.Police were told that Celeste was living with the mother and son since October.The fire broke out at the two-storey house before daybreak on Friday.
Fire officers of the Point Fortin station responded and extinguished the blaze, and found the bodies after investigating the premises.

At around 3.50pm the first responders, responded to a report of fight from the Command Center and proceeded to #268Eastern Main Road, El Dorado. Upon arrival met the suspect standing in the doorway wearing a white vest and a checkered coloured short pants, covered in what appeared to be blood. The suspect made certain utterances and pointed to a room inside the house. The officers checked the room and observed the victim lying on the ground with head facing in a southwestern direction and feet facing in a northeastern direction. The victim was covered in what appeared to be blood, with open wounds to her face. There was also a piece of 2×2 wood next to the body covered in blood. There are unconfirmed reports that a police sgt from southern division shot his girlfriend who is also a police officer twice in her chest .Now hearing Sgt ramroop shot wp persad in debe earlier tonight. The incident happened at their Mohess road Penal home.. its reported that the girlfriend(wpc) is currently in a critical but stable condition at hospital.


A TAXI driver was hijacked, shot to the head and left for dead on Sunday by criminals wanting his car.

Luckily the bullet grazed the skull of the 38 year old taxi driver and he survived.

The man was plying his gold Nissan Almera for hire along the Sangre Grande to Valencia route when he picked up three men.

One of them sat in the front passenger seat and the two others in the rear seat.


Around 8.20 p.m. upon nearing St Albans Road, Valencia, the two men in the rear seat pulled out firearms and announced a hold up.

They ordered the driver into St Albans Road where the criminals took a cell phone and $2,100 from the front seat passenger, and ordered him into the back seat.

The driver was thrown into the trunk.

After the criminals took over the vehicle they drove to Block Five, Wallerfield.


They shot the driver to the head, and threw him out of the vehicle.

The passenger was hit on the head with the gun butt and also thrown onto the road.

The criminals sped off.

Passersby assisted the two victims and took them to hospital and contacted police.

The taxi driver was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he is warded in serious condition.


The passenger was also warded.

Officers of the Sangre Grande CID and Task Force, and Eastern Division police responded and are investigating.

The body of a man was discovered floating in a ravine in Cunupia on Monday afternoon.

Police said just after 2 pm a gardener at Penn Trace observed the body floating face down in the murky water.

A party of police officers from the Cunupia Police Station along with others responded.

Police believe it’s the body of a man from Mount Hope identified as Roderick Harewood.

Harewood’s car was found in the said area on Sunday night. It had several bullet holes and bloodstains.

Police believe Harewood’s body was dumped there and his car left abandoned.

No motive has been established yet.

A man identified as Joel Franco was shot roughly 8 times around 8pm in Samaroo Village.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment however, he succumbed to his injuries around 11:30pm last night.

The deceased brother was killed in December 2019.

SHOOTING IN LONGDENVILLE

no 18526 pc David Burgess of the K9 unit Caroni who is presently on V L and resides at Frank Avenue when he heard a commotion on the roadway.On investegating he observed the deceased Renrick Hudson Phillip,36 yrs, cconstruction worker of Auguste Trace Mamoral #2 in a dispute with a woman. The deceased took out a firearm from his waist and struck the woman, and both the firearm and the woman fell to the ground. He picked up the firearm and saw PC Burgess and pointed it at him. PC Burgess then discharged three rounds from his personal firearm which struck the deceased, who then fell to the ground. The DMO Dr. Charles visited the scene and made a pronouncement and ordered the removal of the body. The body was conveyed by Simpson’s Funeral Agency. The CSI processed the scene which was visited by Inspector Ragoo and other officers.

Two persons were shot at Four Roads in Diego Martin.

They were taken to the hospital where they later died.

One of the deceased was identified as Corey Nicholas also known as Crime whilst the other was only identified as Spanish.

Central Division police are investigating a stabbing death in Longdenville.

The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Clint Edwards of Gopaul Avenue.

The suspect has surrendered to police.

The incident occurred along Lamont Street, Longdenville, at around 4pm on Saturday.

Police said the men, who were friends, were seen arguing on the roadway.

There was a struggle and someone pulled out a knife.

Police said both men were stabbed in the fight.

Edwards, however, was stabbed in the neck and collapsed on the roadway.

Residents who heard the loud voices ran out and pulled the men apart.

Edwards was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility, where he died while undergoing treatment.

The suspect walked into the Longdenville police post and gave himself up.

He was also treated at the health facility and released into police custody.

An autopsy would be performed on Monday

A man was shot dead in daylight, along the busy Southern Main road in Claxton Bay, on Sunday.
No one witnessed the crime and no suspects were held.



Police said an anonymous caller reported that there was a body on the roadway, in the vicinity of the Claxton Bay Health Centre, at around 2.05pm.
The shooting occurred near the St Margaret’s police station.
The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Akim McDonald. He lived along the old train line in St Margaret’s Village.



Police said McDonald was shot in the head.

Investigators have no immediate motive for the killing.
It was the third homicide for the day, and the 26th for the year



Three people were shot and wounded by gunmen in downtown Port-of-Spain this afternoon. The search is on for the two shooters who may have been wounded in a subsequent exchange of gunfire with the police.It unfolded around 2:25pm when gunmen in a car randomly opened fire on people walking along Queen Street, Port-of-Spain.The car with the gunmen then drove off. A report was made to the police who responded and found three persons suffering from gunshot injuries. They were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital for treatment.
An All-Points Bulletin was issued and a vehicle was spotted along the Eastern Main Road, Laventille.Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, but its occupants opened fire on them. Officers fired on the suspects but they ran into the hills of Laventille, one of then carrying an automatic rifle.No police officer was injured during the exchange, but investigators believe that the gunmen were wounded.
